Counselling and psychotherapy?
Counselling and psychotherapy involves a special kind of
relationship, based around issues of confidentiality, empathy, and trust. Sometimes
this relationship is conducted face-to-face, by telephone, and has shown to
be successful via the Internet and e-mail.
The therapist and client both have unique personalities, so inevitably our
thoughts and ideas will be very different at times throughout our
sessions. There are times in our
lives when we feel distress for one reason or another, and it can be a
relief to talk things through with a trusted person. Exploring difficulties
in the here and now, and issues arising from the past can help us
understand ourselves, bringing insights, solutions, and change.
Therapy can help with depression, anxiety, phobia, relationship problems,
sexual worries, and many other issues. Short or long term therapy can be
discussed, in total confidence. Fees are based on hourly sessions,
and are client centred as to how long you wish them to last. Individuals receiving help from
therapists sometimes like to know something about the person who is there
to help. It is often sufficient to know that the therapist belongs to a
reputable agency. I am accredited by The British Association of
Counsellors No 514422 and registered as an independent therapist by The United Kingdom
Register Of Counsellors. My insurers are with Smith Mason Group, and I am
supervised by Stephen Bray
